Mark Martin

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Mark Martin brings an elite wrestling background and a competitor’s mindset to The MMA Network. A two-time OHSAA state champion at the prestigious St. Edward High School — one of the most legendary wrestling programs in the country — Mark compiled 117 wins throughout his NCAA Division I career with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

At Ohio State University, Mark competed as a 174-pounder for the Buckeyes, earning his place on the 2015 NCAA Division I National Championship team. A multiple-time NCAA qualifier and academic standout, Mark carried that same focus and discipline into everything he pursued.

That drive took him to professional MMA, where he competed as a welterweight on the PFL Challenger Series — one of the most competitive stages in the sport. An eye injury brought his competitive career to a close, but his passion for the sport never wavered.

Today, Mark serves as Head Wrestling Coach at Redhawk Academy under Tim Welch’s program, pouring everything he earned — the championships, the experience, the lessons — into the athletes he develops.
